They would rather be out in the streets begging and then getting drunk or buying drugs. Having spoken to quite a few homeless recently they have said that they don’t feel safe in many hostels. Personally I think that with the closure of the large Psychiatric Hospitals in the 90s, homelessness due to a mental illness has increased. sometimes part of someone’s illness can be that they don’t want to be helped. Then they can end up
You Can Be My Jack & I Will Be Your Sally Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt
in a vicious circle that ends in a cold and lonely death on the You Can Be My Jack & I Will Be Your Sally Shirt and I love this streets… The problem is: How and when do you force help on someone? I couldn’t agree more, Millie. I worked in a nightshelter for a few years in the 1980s and my PhD research was partly on homeless service provision in London just after the Financial Crash (where I worked in a volunteer capacity in a hostel and I didn’t feel safe, so goodness knows how the service users felt). It’s not housing that is the real problem with many street homeless
